Paragliding Queensland offers HGFA (Hang Gliding Federation of Australia) certified Instruction using hill and /or winch launching. We will give you the most complete instruction possible in all facets of the curriculum at our Paragliding School.
 
Two day introductory lesson $550.00

This course introduces you to the basic principles of glider control, ground handling, launching, landing. We commence on flat ground and progress up our gentle training hill for some short flights. Flight altitude will depend on your progress as assessed by your instructor.
The cost of this course along with the two days of instruction can be credited towards a full licence course (conditions apply)

 
Complete solo license $1,800.00

Our complete licence course is an unlimited course(conditions apply). This course is designed to take you through to a level of competency necessary to fly from most sites in Australia and world wide. Our aim is to help you to achieve a level of confidence and competency second to none in Australian instructional facilities. We do not cut corners in your training and use all methods available for complete training including hill launching, tow launching, slope soaring, thermal soaring as well as a complete theory component. (Winch launching will be used if weather conditons permit). Most students of average ability will achieve a licence in about 10 days of flying. Some may learn faster.

Paragliding LessonsIf you purchase a glider/harness/helmet combination at the commencment of your course and use your equipment during your training course you will receive up to $800 discount on the cost of your full lesson course.

Our courses run all year. Prior booking is essential as available dates fill up quickly.

Please note: It is a requirement that all persons, who participate in Paragliding, whether as a Tandem passenger or a student, must be a financial member of the HGFA. (Hang Gliding Federation of Australia). The cost of your tandem flight or two day introductory lesson includes a "training instructional membership". However if you continue beyond the two-day introductory lesson, you will be required to join the HGFA as a "student pilot" or "full member". The cost of student pilot membership is $99 while the full membership is $253. HGFA regulations state that this membership needs to be paid before any further instruction can take place. Your HGFA membership covers you for third party liability and your HGFA magazine "Australian Soaring" subscription.

Our courses run all year round however the ideal time to learn Paragliding is in the milder mid year months of April thru October.

Terms and Conditions
* The complete licence course is limited to 14 days of practical training. Any further training will incur a small surcharge to cover equipment use cost.
* Credits will be given to participants to complete their course at a later date if inclement weather conditions prohibit course completion within the set time.
* Breaks of more than one month between successive lesson days will incur a surcharge.
